My Chemical Romance have entered Lauren Tsai’s ‘The Dying World’ with a new animated short film ‘Prelude to The End’ – it was produced by Tsai’s independent studio Unreal Inc.
Centered on ‘The End,’ the opening track from My Chemical Romance’s 2006 album ‘The Black Parade’, ‘The Dying World’ follows Astrid, a student at a strict and spooky institution called ‘Paper Academy’ as she constantly faces pressure from the dean and authorities who tell her that something is wrong with her and that she must give up her “delusions”, creativity and fragments of the past. Lauren Tsai voices Astrid, while Phoebe Bridgers as her sister, Billie Eilish appears as her friend, Hideo Kojima as The Teacher (Tsai previously appeared in his video game ‘Death Stranding 2: On the Beach’) and John C. McGinley as the imposing Dean.
