Acres share ‘Built to Bleed’ music video

UK band Acres will release their new album ‘The Host’ on May 2nd via Solid State Records.  They are sharing another single from the record, this time in the form of the video for the sanguine banger ‘Built To Bleed’. It’s a bouncy, groove-laden track, packed with gnarly riffs, crunchy synths, and an utterly nasty vocal bite — just like metal fans like it!

“I wrote ‘Built to Bleed’ lyrically about how I realized I have been valuing myself for pretty much my entire life,” says bassist Jack Rogers. “I’ve never been one to feel positive about myself or celebrate ‘achievements’ or be happy with the way I look, etc. Starting therapy made me realize how I’d manage to normalize those feelings and believe them whole heartedly. It’s a song where I’m at my absolute lowest mentally, laced with guilt for feeling the way I feel and being so good at hiding it and masking it. It’s definitely the most lyrically open I’ve ever been about my inner thoughts of myself.”

Regarding the album, singer Ben Lumber previously said: “‘The Host’ represents a bold step in a new direction for us as a band, we’ve always pushed ourselves to evolve with every album and never write the same record twice. This time the process was unlike anything we’ve done before, working with Landon Tewers brought a fresh perspective and added a new flair to our sound that we’re really excited about!”
