Alexisonfire release cover of The Tragically Hip’s ‘Fully Completely,’ announce EP ‘Copies of Old Masters Volume 1’

Alexisonfire is excited to announce ‘Copies of Old Masters Volume 1,’ a four-track cover collection to be released November 7th via Dine Alone Records. True to form, the band puts their unmistakable stamp on reimagined versions of songs from beloved 90s Canadian bands The Tragically Hip, Doughboys, Shallow North Dakota, and Rusty.

Speaking on the genesis of the project, vocalist George Pettit shared, “This is like one of those things where you come up with the idea, you say it out loud and then you never do it. Well, we did it. You can imagine Alexisonfire sitting around backstage with a bluetooth speaker playing all of our favourite 90s CanCon songs and someone saying, ‘we should do a record of Canadian 90s covers’. For most people it would probably end there. Lucky for you, Alexisonfire isn’t ‘most people’. We love fun.”

Alongside the announcement comes the EP’s first offering ‘Fully Completely’, Alexisonfire’s spin on the classic track from Canadian music royalty, The Tragically Hip. “Show me a Canadian that didn’t own a Tragically Hip cassette in their youth and I’ll show you someone that lied to you about not owning a Tragically Hip cassette in their youth.”

Alexisonfire are rolling out a special merch capsule, available alongside standard and limited edition vinyl variants, CD (maxi-single) and Cassette (red) which fans can pre-order.
