Today Awolnation release the new album, ‘Angel Miners & The Lightning Rider,’ via Better Noise Music. The album features the hit ‘The Best,’ the group’s seventh Top 5 Alternative Radio track. An alternate version of ‘The Best’ featuring Alice Merton, released in March, has since been added at radio stations and at streaming services around the world. The album also includes features from Alex Ebert of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros on ‘Mayday!!! Fiesta Fever’ and Rivers Cuomo of Weezer on the single ‘Pacific Coast Highway (In The Movies).’
The video for ‘Pacific Coast Highway (In The Movies)’ is a foray into animation, directed by Ravi Dhar and animated by Lessa Millett. “It depicts cartoonish L.A. beach life, literally – as an animated cartoon. The promise of Pacific Coast Highway is a glamorous and beautiful open road, but in reality it’s more of a slow moving traffic jam. It’s showing when fantasy meets real life” says Aaron Bruno, vocalist, and mastermind behind the band.
