Backdrop Falls release their newest audiovisual project ‘Junkyard Sessions’ in an out-of-the-box setting, featuring three live tracks from the album ‘There’s No Such Place as Home’ and the single ‘Mona Lisa.’
Catchy sing-along choruses, alt-rock riffs, and honest punk rock sensibilities are some of the band’s biggest draws. The live session project was recorded at Sucata do Chico Alves, in Fortaleza / Ceará. The tracks ‘Big Lie,’ ‘Mona Lisa,’ ‘Back of the line’ and ‘Reach the SKY’ were released in full on the band’s youtube channel.
The quartet was formed in 2016 in the coastal city of Fortaleza, Brazil, after being conceived and created by vocalist/guitarist/composer Matheus Collyer. Starting as a studio project, they became a full band shortly after the release of their first EP, when they started touring their hometown, taking their first steps and opening for bigger bands on the national scene.
Formed by Collyer (guitar/vocals), Rafael Neutral (guitar), Breno de Souza (drums) and Marcelino Oliveira (bass), the band released its first full length in May 2019, entitled ‘There’s no such place as home,’ which was distributed worldwide through 10 different record labels.
Sum 41, Against Me, Face to Face, Hellacopters… these are some of the bands that the Brazilian quartet Backdrop Falls opened for throughout their six-year career and that gives a good overview of what they are all about.
