Bad Brains received a brand-new mural in New York City

Legendary artist Shepard Fairey, in collaboration with LISA Project NYC, has recently completed a new mural paying tribute to the iconic punk rock band, Bad Brains. The artwork was painted on a wall at Bleecker Street and Bowery in downtown Manhattan over the course of Monday and Tuesday.

The location is noteworthy as it sits across from the former home of legendary music venue CBGB, now occupied by a J Crew store, and replaces a previous mural by Fairey depicting Blondie – which had itself replaced a Joey Ramone mural in 2017. The mural is based on a collection of photographs by Glen E. Friedman
