Catbite release new single ‘Tired Of Talk’ featuring Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s Catbite, hot off the announcement of their forthcoming release, ‘Doom Garden,’ share their new single, ‘Tired Of Talk’ featuring guest vocals and trumpet by none other than Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy. In fact, Stump also contributed songwriting efforts to the track too! Adding to the all-star cast of collaborators, Catbite recruited animator Sam Grinberg (The Simpsons, Adult Swim) to create the music video for the song. And, utilizing the magic of green screens, the members of the band, as well as Patrick Stump, are able to enter into this black and white world of Grinberg’s creation.

“When we were writing, we felt this song would be the perfect opportunity to introduce a guest vocal” explains guitarist Tim Hildebrand. “At the top of our list of people to ask was Patrick Stump. Collectively, we are all huge fans of Fall Out Boy, and specifically Patrick’s vocal style. We knew it was a HUGE stretch, but we found a way to contact him, shared the song, and crossed our fingers and toes. By the miracle of ska, we got a reply from Patrick saying that he loved the song and would love to sing on it. He went above and beyond, and we are ecstatic on how this turned out!”

For his part, Stump notes his mutual admiration:Catbite is one of the real greats of this generation of ska music. A wave that hasn’t even hit the beach yet. I was so amped to be asked to work with them and I can’t wait to see where they end up.” Lyrically, the song continues the overall theme of the release, as detailed by vocalist Brit Luna: “‘Doom Garden’ is about self love to put it simply. It’s about self reflection and sitting with the bad parts of ourselves to make changes. It’s about boundaries as a human in the world and in a partnership. It’s about healing from the past and knowing that the future can be whatever you want it to be!”.
