DJ Fresh drops ‘Gold Dust’ anniversary remix pack

Following a successful slew of remixes in recent months that have primed fans for an epic ‘Gold Dust’ resurgence, DJ Fresh now drops the full ‘Gold Dust’ remix EP, leading with further remixes from Marten Hørger, Krafty Kuts, and Dutty Moonshine. They form the full pack alongside previous remix single drops from Skepsis, Fox Stevenson, and Bou & Used, which now have an impressive 1.1M streams combined. Enlisted to celebrate ‘Gold Dust’’s 10-year anniversary, the remixers add fresh new chapters to the timeless hit’s legacy.

“’Hot Right Now’ was the first UK Drum & Bass no.1, but it was ‘Gold Dust’ that set the stage for it to happen,” DJ Fresh shared. “Even though we had mostly just grassroots support at the start it went on to become my biggest selling single and probably my best-known track, it changed my life and the lives of all the Drum & Bass soldiers who worked so hard for so long for the recognition that ‘Gold Dust’ finally won. This remix EP is a celebration for me, and for Drum & Bass!”

From hard-hitting drum and bass, breaks, and UK bass to jumping bass house flavors, dubstep, and more, the final artists to complete the pack each transform the original into their own. A leading talent on the bass house scene, Marten Hørger marks the perfect addition to the EP, bringing expertise and critical acclaim that has seen him succeed on labels like Musical Freedom, Monstercat, Confession, and more whilst being crowned one of Beatport’s Top10 most successful bass house artists of all time.

Meanwhile, Krafty Kuts adds pioneering breakbeat touches, his years of experience on the scene is demonstrated with party-punching breakdowns that add new layers to the original anthem. Dutty Moonshine Big Band rounds the EP off on a triumphant high, combining live band elements with head-turning drops that truly bring ‘Gold Dust’ to life.

With over 20 years on the scene and 10 years since ‘Gold Dust’ was initially released, DJ Fresh has produced multiple chart-topping hits including ‘Hot Right Now,’ ‘Gravity,’ and ‘Louder,’ all landing on the UK Official Chart. Honing a unique ability to simultaneously deliver crossover hits whilst maintaining his ear for the grittier end of the d&b spectrum, Fresh launched the careers of Pendulum, Sigma, Chase & Status, Nero, the Brookes Brothers, and more through his Breakbeat Kaos imprint.

The recent relaunch continues that ethos, with the ‘Gold Dust’ remix pack championing some of the finest talent of the moment as well as established acts. Reigniting the ‘Gold Dust’ flame whilst looking back on the evolution of the hit and its impact on the scene that has stood the test of time, DJ Fresh’s 10-year anniversary remix EP certainly demonstrates the global dance anthem is destined to stay fresh forever.
