Born and bred in LA, Grave Secrets is a four-person outfit that has been causing quite the commotion within the last few years, known for crafting raw, authentic pop punk songs—voiced with just enough nostalgia for them to honor the past as much as they do the future. They are returning to Emo Nite’s dedicated Graveboy Records label to issue their new 5-track EP, ‘I Wish I Was Sorry’ a memoir of sorts, allowing them to close the book on a younger version themselves. Sitting at the core of the release is ‘Omwdown!’, with frontman Vinny delivering rowdy, indignant vocals admitting to a laundry list of character flaws in a very much sarcastic fashion. The flippant groaning feels complacent at first, only to become torqued up to a level of scream singing that builds from slow, chugging power chords and tumultuous guitar riffs until a faster, brighter outro offers a sense of closure. This is crashing out at its finest.
They released the lead single ‘BLUFFSIDE’ back in June, landing press coverage from Get Some Magazine, Pop Punkers, Melodic mag, Start Track and more. The song was also included on the label’s ‘Good Luck Finding Something to Play This On’ compilation album. They are slated to perform at Van Warped Tour Long Beach, and have a West Coast tour in the works. They recently performed at intimate venues across Los Angeles, including Lodge Room Highland Park,The Echo,The Smell, The Shed. The EP has been teased with various physical products across Emo Nite’s North American shows across the country, with promotional drink umbrellas placed in cocktails at the next Emo Nite LA show in August.
