Have Mercy announce new album ‘The Loneliest Place I’ve Ever Been,’ share lead single ‘August 17’ and upcoming tour dates

Maryland rock band Have Mercy announced their long-awaited sixth studio record ‘The Loneliest Place I’ve Ever Been’, set for release on August 29th via Rude Records. Along with the news, they unveiled the album’s first single, the cathartic ‘August 17’ with an accompanying music video.

‘August 17’ is the emotionally raw lead single capturing the ache of memory, loss, and the words left unsaid. With confessional lyrics and soaring guitars, the song is a powerful meditation of regret and the fragile nature of human connection. It’s a song for anyone who has ever looked back and wished they had done more, called sooner, stayed longer, and loved louder.

“We’ve been waiting so long to show our fans what we’ve been working on. This feels like a new journey has started for our band. There’s no better way to kick start this album than releasing a song like ‘August 17’. It is an incredibly personal song that carries a lot of weight. It’s about loss and the continuing pain felt after someone is gone. It may hurt less over time but it never stops hurting,” shares Brian Swindle, lead singer of Have Mercy.

Driven by their signature blend of vulnerability and intense melodies, this new record is for fans of emotionally charged alt-rock and timeless songwriting. It’s a collection of songs to play when the night feels too quiet.

The album was produced by Brian Swindle, mixed by Paul Leavitt, and mastered by Nick Townsend. Creative direction and album art were handled by Benjamin Lieber (member of bands like Head North and Marigold), who has recently worked with bands such as Mayday Parade and Four Year Strong. The album spans ten deeply personal tracks – check out the tracklist below.
