Ink Bomb release ‘Ploughshares,’ the third single from their debut album ‘Fiction’

The Netherlands-based melodic punk rock band Ink Bomb has released a new single: ‘Ploughshares.’ The song is the third single from debut album ‘Fiction,’ which will be released on August 23. The single is a patchwork consisting of multiple genres and emotions. The music is elated and heroic as well danceable and bombastic, accompanied with vulnerable texts about hopelessness and poverty. Violent outbursts seem to be the only way out.

“The
song ‘Ploughshares was the last of the ‘Fiction’ songs that we finished writing,” says Arina Banga. “From September, I have been surfing and traveling along the coast of Portugal for five months. When I left, there were some ideas for the song, but it wasn’t a complete song yet. We debated about it via Skype and chat. Although there was no bass guitar in my luggage I tried to co-write the song from a coast town in Portugal.”

“The interesting thing is that we actually never played the final version of ‘Ploughshares’ in the rehearsal room before the month of the release of ‘Fiction,’ adds guitarist Quirijn Foeken. “The song was created by a spontaneous funk jam by me and drummer Paul van de Geijn. We have retained this funk piece, because it differs slightly from our other songs. It makes it one of our favorites of the record.”
