Kidwild drops debut EP ‘Distro Kid’, shares lead single ‘Redemption’ featuring Nemzzz

Emerging East London rapper Kidwild explodes into 2025 with the release of his debut EP ‘Distro Kid.’ Five tracks of boundary-pushing modern rap, the EP spotlights his raw versatility—shifting effortlessly from moody, late-night introspection to sharp, punchy lyricism. Traversing themes of mental health, battling demons, relationships, family, the pitfalls of fame, the search for true friendship, and the relentless grind, ‘Distro Kid’ captures Kidwild’s unfiltered journey through life’s highs and lows.

The lead single ‘Redemption’ sees Kidwild link up with frequent collaborator Nemzzz as the two rappers trade bars on their endless hustle backed by a haunting beat from Kaiso & GW where eerie vocals clash with industrial sonics. The accompanying video, shot by DonProd in the outskirts of Nemzzz’s native Manchester, splices performance shots of the two rappers in a frozen landscape,  marking the perfect cinematic accompaniment to the hard-hitting new single.

The stripped-back sonics of ‘Standard’ lay Kidwild’s lyrical finesse bare, as he weaves hard-won tales on his climb to the top. Produced by JDUBBZ‘Say Less Freestyle’, is a 2-minute showcase of sharp storytelling and tongue-in-cheek wordplay. The moody ‘Indecisive’ sees producer GW warp soulful vocal samples, weaving them between industrial sonics and Kidwild’s late-night confessions. Closing out the EP is ‘Fake Friends’, a powerful declaration that 2025 is Kidwild’s year. As he reflects on the fake friends who have surrounded him, he emerges resolute—still holding onto faith in humanity despite it all.
