Kidwild unveils poignant new single ‘Forgive Me’

East London’s genre-fluid rap talent Kidwild today returns with ‘Forgive Me’, his most personal and affecting release yet. The track sees him reflect on growing up without his father, who lives in Jamaica, and the decade-long distance that shaped his resilience and search for identity. Honest, vulnerable and quietly devastating, ‘Forgive Me’ traces the emotional cost of absence while inching toward forgiveness.

Speaking on ‘Forgive Me’, Kidwild said: “I wanted to tell this part of my story in depth and it made sense to touch on the topic around me and my dad’s relationship as we recently made contact again. Growing up it was always me and my mum and I went to see my dad every now and again. I shared my perspective on how it made me feel when I was younger, not understanding life as much but now I’m older my perspective has changed.”

The accompanying video was filmed during Kidwild’s recent trip to Jamaica, his first ever visit to the island. Shot with textured, documentary-style detail, it captures the moment he finally reunites with his dad, revisits the country and reconnects with the parts of himself he left behind. The visual also highlights Kidwild’s work with Twin Palms, an on-the-ground charity, supporting relief efforts at a challenging time for communities across the island. It’s a powerful glimpse into a pivotal chapter, personal, cultural and deeply grounding.

‘Forgive Me’ follows the explosive ‘Remontada’ with Blanco, a comeback anthem loaded with sharp lyricism and cinematic grit. It arrives after a strong run of releases including ‘The Truth’ with LeoStayTrill, praised by Rolling Stone UK, CLASH and NOTION, and his bespoke rework of ‘Redemption’ for Tottenham Hotspur’s Europa League campaign.
