Birmingham-based rapper Kofi Stone has released brand new single ‘Rainfall.’ The track arrives with an accompanying video directed by Olivier Richomme. As the world rushes by, Kofi remains remarkably still, finding beauty and meaning in his moments of stillness.
The new single follows August’s double-release ‘Heartlands’ and ‘Thorns’ featuring Jacob Banks, and marks yet another introspective and unflinching addition to Kofi’s flourishing catalogue and quiet ascent as one of the most vital voices in British rap. ‘Rainfall’ is a strikingly candid piece that confronts some of the most defining experiences in Kofi’s life and his view of the world around him – moments of conflict, brushes with the law, and the ways pride and pain have shaped him. At the same time, it’s a meditation on resilience, patience and purpose, all pointing towards growth and brighter days. “Just know when you plant the seeds, don’t forget the rain..” he raps.
Kofi says: “I wrote this song after reflecting on some life changing moments, I wanted to document them so I could look back and see how far I’ve come as a man. ‘Rainfall’ is about growth, gratefulness and hope. I feel like the journey has been a tough one thus far, and I wanted to make that known on this record.“
