Oxymorrons release new EP ‘Create. Destroy. Rebuild. Repeat.’

New York genre-defying punks Oxymorrons have officially kicked down the door with their new EP ‘Create. Destroy. Rebuild. Repeat.’, out everywhere today. Written, recorded, and produced entirely by vocalist brothers Deee and KI and guitarist Jafé Paulino, ‘C.D.R.R.’ marks their first release as a fully independent three-piece. Every lyric, riff, and beat is sharpened with the grit of their personal journeys and the defiance of where they’re headed.

“The message behind this project is about the journey of building something meaningful”, shares the band. “It starts with creating something from a place of passion, then facing challenges that try to knock you off course. From there, it’s about picking yourself up, rebuilding, and continuing the cycle. Being consistent is very important. That process really reflects what we’ve experienced as a band, and through this project, we wanted to share that story and give people a look into who we are and what we’ve been through.”

The 12-track (8 songs, 4 skits) project pulls listeners in from the jump. It includes previously released singles ‘Cool Being You’ – a high-voltage celebration of self-expression that smashes punk, alt, and hip-hop into one swagger-drenched banger. And ‘BLK SHEEP’ – a thrash-punk/alt-rap rally cry that rips through corruption, inequality, and the endless layers of hypocrisy baked into politics, culture, and everyday life.

Pulling influence from the Big Beat Era of the mid-2000’s (The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim) while keeping their foundation in rock, metal, punk, hardcore, and hip-hop, ‘C.D.R.R.’ captures a moment in time for Oxymorrons – the fastest they’ve ever gone from writing to release. The urgency is baked into the sound.

“Self-producing ‘C.D.R.R’ aligned with this moment in our careers, like moments prior; we are completely independent. No record label. So naturally it seemed right to produce this project completely on our own”, explains the band. “It is such an honest representation of where we are right now in this exact moment, with splashes of where we could potentially be going. It was a great way of ‘sharpening our swords’ together, finding and amplifying what our voice would be as we entered a new Oxymorrons era. And most importantly – it was just really so much fun. We got to explore new sounds and the ideas in our heads without any influence outside of the 3 of us, and that’s really special for any band to solidify this unique moment in time for us.”

The band’s next move: take it live. Oxymorrons hit the road September 22nd for part two of Sleep Theory’s Afterglow Tour, then crash the stage at the Warped Tour 30th Anniversary finale in Orlando, FL.
