Punkerton Records is thrilled to announce the release of a special Halloween-themed split 7″ vinyl featuring Long Island’s ska-punk powerhouse Half Dizzy and Detroit’s eccentric The Boy Detective! This spooky split combines the talents of ska legends with a dark, horror-inspired remix —perfect for setting the mood this Halloween season.
Hallf Dizzy contributes two thrilling tracks on Side A.
- ‘The Faceless’ – A spooky ska-punk anthem featuring the legendary Vic Ruggiero of The Slackers and Jess Debellis of Skapossitory on organ.
- Remix by Destryur – This remix, set to drop on October 15th, 2024, blends Half Dizzy’s energetic punk and ska rhythms with Destryur’s signature dark, cinematic EDM horror vibes.
Dan Marchelewski, lead singer and songwriter of Half Dizzy, shares insight on ‘The Faceless’: “The song began as a simple spooky ska idea back in 2022. It evolved into a gripping thriller about a fictional nameless government agency chasing the listener. With input from everyone in the band, we crafted some of our best work yet, especially with Jess Debellis’s incredible organ contribution. The addition of Vic Ruggiero’s vocals, who also inspired the organ part with his song ‘Policeman’ was a true honor. To cap it off, we teamed up with Destryur for a haunting remix that captures the gritty horror energy perfectly.”
On Side B, The Boy Detective delivers ‘For The Record, I’m Not A Cannibal Anymore’ – this anthem of resilience features ska legends J. Navarro (Suicide Machines, Break Anchor) on vocals and Eric Abbey (J. Navarro and the Traitors) on keys. The track is about reclaiming what you love, even after painful memories threaten to taint it—whether it’s music, a movie, or a tattoo.
