Sincere Engineer is celebrating a decade of punk music magic in a big way. The beloved Chicago-based songwriter is taking a look back on her esteemed career with a special documentary ‘Nobody’s Gonna Do It For You: Ten Years Of Sincere Engineer’ that celebrates her unique journey, and all the people she’s met along the way.
It was only fitting that Sincere Engineer, aka Deanna Belos, celebrated the film with a special one-off event in her hometown. Fans in the Chicago area will be able to see the film in person on May 4th when the documentary premieres at Metro’s Top Note Theater with both a matinee and a late screening. But don’t stress – because fans not in the greater Chicago area will still get a front row seat when the short film premieres for the first time via YouTube and VEEPS on May 1st, 2025.
Sincere Engineer’s Deanna Belos shares: “Thanks to some dumb luck and a couple “ah, fuck it”s, sincere engineer has had a pretty wild ten years. this documentary is a look back on how it all came to be, recognizing the village that helped raise it, and a sincere thank you to all of the kind fans and friends we’ve met along the way.”
