Los Angeles outfit The Interrupters return after four years with a video for triumphant new single ‘Warrior Spirit’. The new wave-inspired track is rooted in themes of resilience and grit with vocalist Aimee Interrupter sharing: “Everyone is usually fighting some kind of battle that no one else can see but within each of us lies a warrior spirit that begs us to find our own fearlessness.”
New wave synths and syncopated rhythms showcase the band’s effortless ascent as alternative breakouts on ‘Warrior Spirit’. Guitarist Kevin Bivona shares, “This was a super fun collaboration with so many musicians we admire. We created this song with Tim Armstrong, Jesse Michaels, Travis Barker, and Brett Gurewitz. It was a big dance party in the studio every time this track played. It’s got that ska upbeat but we’re also tipping our hat to our favorite early 80s new wave bands.”
Since forming in Los Angeles in 2011, The Interrupters have emerged as one of the most influential bands merging modern punk, ska, and alternative. Fronted by Aimee Interrupter alongside brothers Kevin, Justin, and Jesse Bivona, the band broke into the mainstream with their breakout 2018 anthem ‘She’s Kerosene’, from Fight The Good Fight, topping the radio charts in the U.S. and Canada.
2022’s ‘In The Wild’ followed, a deeply personal album that saw the group seamlessly blending breathless punk rock, doo-wop, gospel, and dancehall. Through acclaimed releases, relentless touring, and a reputation for explosive live performances, The Interrupters have built a devoted global following while carrying the torch for a new generation of fans through uplifting anthems rooted in resilience and strength, with new music on the horizon.
