The Kilograms (ex-Bosstones and The Bouncing Souls) announce new album and single ‘Beliefs and Thieves’

One of the highlights of 2024 was the formation of reggae-punk supergroup The Kilograms. The band, which includes Joe Gittleman (The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Avoid One Thing), Michael McDermott (ex-The Bouncing Souls, Joan Jett), Sammy Kay, J Duckworth (Newport Secret Six), and the newly added Craig Gorsline, released their self-titled debut EP, followed by a two-song single in September, and spent plenty of time on the road supporting The Bouncing Souls, Spring Heeled Jack, Mephiskapheles, The Pietasters, and more.

If you were lucky to catch them live, you surely felt the magic in the room and had to wonder what came next? That gets answered today as The Kilograms have announced their debut album, ‘Beliefs & Thieves’, will be released on Friday, April 4th. Recorded by Pete Steinkopf of The Bouncing Souls and mixed by Paul Kolderie (Pixies, Radiohead, and Morphine), ‘Beliefs & Thieves’ is an instant classic that showcases The Kilograms’ exceptional musicianship and has plenty of dirt under its fingernails. “It’s been a cool time playing with these guys. ‘Beliefs & Thieves’ to me is like the scrapbook of our first year together as a band. It’s all in there.”Joe Gittleman.

The titular track, ‘Beliefs & Thieves’, is streaming on all digital platforms today. In addition to the new single, you can preorder ‘Beliefs & Thieves’ from Rad Girlfriend Records and the band’s own recently minted label, Weights and Measures. Starting at the end of February, The Kilograms will be touring the West Coast with Big D and the Kids Table and Omnigone. They follow up that tour with a one off show with the legendary Dropkick Murphy’s and The Menzingers in Boston – check out the dates below!
