The Punk Rock Museum is the world’s most comprehensive attraction dedicated to the history of the music, culture, and absurdity of punk rock. Located in Las Vegas, it houses artifacts and memorabilia from across the world’s punk scene—such as handwritten lyrics, instruments, clothing, photos, flyers, and artwork.
Encompassing 12,000 square feet at 1422 Western Ave, between the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown, the museum celebrates the genre’s substantial cultural impact over the last half-century. This year’s February tour guides are Frank Zummo (Sum 41), Jennifer Finch (L7), John Feldmann (Goldfinger), Greg Hetson (Circle Jerks), Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction), Nathen Maxwell (Flogging Molly).

Artifact of the month: Jacket that belongs to Nathen Maxwell (Flogging Molly)

“I fund this Levis jacket in a pile of clothes that our drummer was donating. At the time, Rudimentary Peni was my favorite band. I cut out a patch from one of my old t-shirts of their album ‘Farce’ and sewed it on the back. After years of wearing it as a jacket, I decided to cut off the sleeves. Even after several bleachings, they had become quite stained from Guinness and other various substances. I used the metal bands from dead lighters to help hold the vest together as it slowly started to disintegrate. This vest has been all over the world while on tour with me and Flogging Molly.” – Nathen Maxwell
