The Warriors have returned and will be releasing new album ‘Burn Yourself Alive.’ on 28th March via Pure Noise records. Lead single ‘My Blood’ sees the band produce a working-class anthem, with a significant head-nod to many classic hardcore songs from Agnostic Front and Cro-mags.
“The day-to-day grind of the working-class is draining on both a physical and spiritual level. But the truth is, we have the power within ourselves to break free from this vampiric paradigm. This sovereignty is available to anyone who dares to take the steps to self-empowerment. Our blood is our life force, not their currency,” says the band.
Their sixth studio album, ‘Burn Yourself Alive’. is an ode to LIFE, not a call to self-immolation. “We find ourselves in dark times indeed, but while we still have a heartbeat, we have the opportunity to create: better art, better music, and better forms of governance. Bukowski said, “Find what you love and let it kill you.” Find your spark. Burn yourself alive.
‘Burn Yourself Alive’ also speaks to the forging fires of the creative process– the “war of art.” The creative process is often difficult and painful as the writing process for ‘Burn Yourself Alive’ can attest. In many ways, this was the most difficult record they’ve ever made. “We began this endeavor during a challenging time of transition for us all. The creative process was punctuated by the death of close family members. However, the universal scales were balanced by two band members each becoming first time fathers”.
‘Burn Yourself Alive’ welcomes the return of two members of the original line-up who came to offer their creative energy to the process: Danny Phillips (Guitar) who brought his definitive guitar leads that have helped define The Warriors sound for the past 2 decades, and Donny Phillips, who contributed to the songwriting and co-produced the album along with Roger Camero.
