OTW by Vans comes together with Bad Idea by CHITO to introduce the Half Cab 33 featuring original artwork by Wreckpack. Founded by CHITO, Bad Idea is a platform built to champion collaboration and create space for artists to be heard, seen, and celebrated.
Rooted in the idea that creativity is collective, Bad Idea brings artists into its world and supports their work taking shape across new expressions. For the platform’s first drop with OTW by Vans, CHITO brings forward Seoul-based artist Wreckpack on footwear and Los Angeles based artist Liter on apparel, collaborating with both on the overall creative and product execution. Wreckpack’s artwork finds a new canvas through the Half Cab 33, while Liter’s work carries the collection into apparel.
Wreckpack brings his distinct airbrush style to the iconic mid-top silhouette, creating a bold reinterpretation of the classic design. His original artwork transforms the Half Cab 33, while elevated materials increase durability and comfort and a padded collar provides enhanced support. Underfoot, a Sola Foam ADC All-Day Comfort insole offers soft, durable cushioning. The footwear is accompanied by a tee and sweatshirt designed by Liter. On the sweatshirt, Liter translates his visual language into a washed black crewneck, where layered tonal triangle appliqués build an angular graphic across the back and hand-stitched X details trace the collar and hem.
The Half Cab 33 will retail for $120, the tee for $65, and the sweatshirt for $85. The OTW by Vans x Bad Idea by CHITO collection will be available beginning October 29th at vans.com/otw.
