Shaun White retires from competing with 4th place at the Beijing 2022 Olympics

Snowboarding legend and three times Olympic champion in halfpipe, Shaun White, announced his retirement from competing after the Beijing Olympics. And it was earlier today that he took fourth place in the finals in his fifth Games, ending the most successful snowboarding career of all time.

Speaking to reporters, a 35-year old snowboarding icon shared, “This has all had its amazing glow to every single decision and every single competition because I’ve decided this will be my last Olympics. I’ve given it my all.” Emotionally, he concluded: In my mind, I’ve decided this will be the last competition.”

We doubt this will be the last we have seen from White, and while said he won’t be in the contest circle anymore, we are excited to see what’s next for him.
